A Guided Photo Experience for Connection, Curiosity, and Fun

Tired of dating apps? Done with swiping? Step into something new and adventurous: a guided photo experience for adults 40+ where connection comes first. Whether it leads to laughter, a new friendship, or maybe something more, this is about showing up, being seen, and enjoying the moment — with no pressure, just presence.

For over two decades, I’ve photographed couples at every stage of life — meeting, growing, evolving. Stranger Sessions: 40+ Edition is my invitation to step into a safe, guided, and intentional experience where two strangers meet for the first time in a portrait session designed to capture authenticity, comfort, and connection.

This isn’t a dating service. It’s not a reality show. It’s not speed dating. It’s a creative, low-pressure experience where you get to meet someone new, explore curiosity, and walk away with meaningful memories — and some beautiful portraits of the experience.

How It Works

1. Apply Online – Complete the questionnaire at the bottom of the page and submit your $30 application fee.

2. Application Review – Applications are thoughtfully reviewed, and pairings are made intentionally. Not all applicants are selected, but your application fee can be used towards a future portrait session for family, headshots etc.

3. Pairing & Scheduling – Selected participants are paired and contacted to schedule a session that works for all parties.

4. The Session – Meet your paired partner for the first time during a guided, fun, and low-pressure photo session. I’ll direct the session so both participants feel comfortable and natural.

Wendy & Skip | Our inspiration for fun & flirty romance

Storytime…

I didn’t introduce Wendy & Skip, but I had the honor of capturing the very beginning of their love story. Wendy hired me for a quick holiday session back in 2017 — a sort of “hard launch” of their relationship in the height of the social media days. From the very first moment, their chemistry and energy were undeniable.

Over the past nearly ten years, I’ve documented so many milestones for them — including their sunrise wedding, where we hiked to the perfect spot in the dark, armed with nothing but my camera and their love (and an officiant friend of mine). They’ve lived all over the world since then, and now call California home, but in 2023 they flew back to Dallas so I could capture updated images in DFW, where it all began. What an honor! (Wendy claims I’m their favorite photographer ever in the whole world — though she probably tells every photographer that, lol.)

I hope to capture that same spark and energy at the beginning of your story through this experience. Who knows what could happen? Let’s see where it goes.

Being over 40 (or even 50… ) doesn’t mean the story is over —

it means confidence, connection, and fun get to look a little more intentional.

What This Experience Is — and Is Not

This IS:

• A guided, professional photo session

• An opportunity to meet someone new in a structured, safe environment

• A chance to step outside your comfort zone with intention

• A creative experience centered on connection and authenticity

This is NOT:

• A dating or matchmaking service

• A guarantee of romantic interest or continued connection

• Speed dating, a mixer, or a reality-style experience

• A commitment beyond the photo session itself

Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of $30 is required to apply.
This fee helps ensure intentional participation and allows me to curate the experience thoughtfully.

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection or pairing.

Image Use & Privacy

Images created during Stranger Sessions may be used for portfolio, website, and marketing purposes unless a participant formally opts out. See the model release on the application for more details.

Personal information shared in this application is kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of this experience.

Consent & Personal Responsibility

Participation in Stranger Sessions is voluntary and based on mutual consent. All interaction during the photo session will be guided and may be adjusted or paused at any time at the request of either participant.

Each participant is responsible for their own personal decisions, communication, and interactions before, during, and after the session. Any continued contact between participants outside of the portrait session is entirely optional and occurs independently of this experience.

The photographer does not assume responsibility or liability for interactions, communication, or relationships that may occur beyond the duration of the scheduled portrait session.

THAT’S IT - you did it!

If your application is complete and meets the requirements, you’ll receive an email invoice for the $30 application fee. The fee must be paid before any pairing or scheduling takes place.

This non-refundable fee will be applied toward your Stranger Session if selected, or may be used toward a future portrait session if you are not selected.

Selected participants will receive three (3) edited digital images from their Stranger Session. Once selected, I’ll reach out to coordinate a session date and time that works for everyone.
